Rack protection, barriers, and safety gates

A $90 rack guard prevents a five-figure upright replacement — and a collapse. Protection is the highest-return line item in most warehouse budgets, and it's the fastest to install.

What protects what

Rack guards & end protectors

Bolt-on guards at aisle ends and every upright in a forklift path — where the overwhelming majority of rack damage happens.

Bollards

Concrete-filled steel pipe protecting dock doors, electrical panels, sprinkler risers, and pedestrian walkways.

Guardrail systems

Structural rail separating traffic aisles from walkways, offices, and equipment — sized for actual forklift impact.

Safety gates

Dual-action pallet drop gates and mezzanine edge gates that keep an opening guarded at all times.

Wire decking & pallet supports

Prevents pallet fall-through, improves sprinkler water flow, and keeps small items out of the aisle.

Column & wall protection

Building column wraps and wall bumpers that stop structural damage from routine lift traffic.

Inspection

Rack damage triage

Damaged uprights lose capacity immediately, and the accepted response is to unload the affected bay before repair — not after. Our walkthrough documents each damaged component with a location and a recommended action, so you can prioritize by risk rather than guess.

How do I know if an upright needs replacing?

Any visible bend, twist, tear at a weld, or deformation in a diagonal or footplate takes the bay out of service until it's repaired or replaced. Deflection you can see by eye is well past acceptable tolerance.

Can damaged uprights be repaired instead of replaced?

Engineered repair kits exist and are often cheaper than a full frame swap, but they must match the frame and be installed to the kit's specification. We quote both options so you can compare.

How much protection does a typical warehouse need?

As a starting point: guards on every upright facing a drive aisle, bollards at dock doors and panels, and guardrail wherever people walk beside lift traffic. It's usually a small fraction of the racking budget.
