Used equipment

Used pallet racks, inspected before it ships

Used racking is the fastest way to cut a storage budget — as long as the steel is sound and you can prove its capacity. We source teardown material from DFW closures, consolidations, and relocations, and we tell you plainly when used is the wrong call.

Inspection

What we reject

Damaged rack is not a discount, it's a liability. Any component with the following goes to scrap rather than into your building:

  • Bent, twisted, or previously repaired uprights and diagonals
  • Deformed beam connectors or torn safety-clip holes
  • Elongated or cracked footplates and missing anchor holes
  • Beams with permanent deflection after unloading
  • Mixed manufacturers within a single bay (connectors are not interchangeable)
  • Material with no identifiable make, series, or capacity reference

Typical availability

Common used specs

Availability changes weekly. These are the sizes that most often come out of DFW buildings, which means they're also the easiest to match later when you expand.

Upright heights12', 14', 16', 18', 20' most common
Upright depths42" and 48"
Beam lengths96" and 144" step beams
Beam faces4" and 5" — sets capacity per pair

Condition gradesGrade A (near-new) and Grade B (usable)

Straight answer

When used is the wrong choice

Seismic or engineered installs

If the permit set requires stamped calculations, unknown-capacity steel creates a problem that costs more than the savings.

Very large single orders

Matching 500+ bays of identical used spec is rare. Mixed lots slow installation and complicate load labeling.

Tight, fixed deadlines

Used supply is opportunistic. If your occupancy date can't move, new steel with a confirmed ship date is safer.

Used pallet rack FAQs

How much cheaper is used pallet racking?

Expect roughly 30–50% below comparable new steel, depending on grade and how common the size is. The savings shrink when a lot needs new decking, new hardware, or heavy sorting.

Can you document capacity on used racking?

When the manufacturer and series are identifiable, we reference published capacity tables for the frame, beam face, and beam spacing you're installing, and label the loaded system accordingly. Unidentifiable steel is not worth buying at any price.

Do you buy racking from closing warehouses?

Yes — teardown and buyback is part of how we source. If you're consolidating or vacating a DFW building, send photos and bay counts and we'll quote removal.

Tell us the pallet positions you need

Send your pallet size, weight, and target bay count and we'll check current used availability against new pricing side by side.
